About the role:
Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the development and management of radiation, safety and environmental protection systems and programs at the across the operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will conduct and lead incident investigation, provide leadership and advice on risk and safety in addition to driving a proactive health & safety culture across the site. Other duties include;
- Participate in and assist with development and implementation of mine site safety and environmental requirements.
- Advise and assist all departments at the site in the areas of health and safety issues including job hazard analysis, various workplace audits and inspections.
- Conduct and lead incident investigations.
- Conduct, lead and facilitate risk assessments.
- You will liaise with operations personnel, contractors, communities, local stakeholders and government departments.
Requirements:
- Suitably degree qualified in OHS or Environmental Science
- Practical experience of safety and environmental issues associated with the mining sector
- Working knowledge of the statutory and regulatory environment associated with mining
- Experience working with radiation preferably as a qualified Radiation Safety Officer would be well regarded
