Industrial Sales Manager/Engineer

Our client is urgently seeking for an Industrial Sales Manager / Engineer.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Recognised Electrical Engineering qualification
  • Ability to interface with customers on a technical/engineering level
  • Fluent in English; other languages used in Africa is an advantage
  • Minimum of 3-5 years proven record in management of Sales Account in International environment (remote management experience is an advantage)
  • Excellent commercial experience with ability to understand customers.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Sub Sahara Africa Industrial market situation
  • Proven consultative sales management experience
  • Significant experience in business negotiations
  • Experience of EMEA environment & culture

Core Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for targeting profitable sales, growth and penetration consistent with Customers’ needs and according to Company strategy, objectives and policies.
  • Interfaces with customers on a technical level in order to develop engineered solutions according to their requirements.
  • Promotes and maintains a customer focused culture within the organisation to drive customer satisfaction in the region.
  • Develop the Sub Sahara Africa oil & gas, power generation, transmission & distribution, petrochemical, manufacturing & processing, mining and transportation sector markets, identifies new business opportunities and drives Action Plans.
  • Develop Industrial systems business via direct sales activity to the consultant-contractor channel, engineering & construction companies, and major end users.
  • Work with service sales managers to secure preventive maintenance contracts on Industrial systems.
  • Manages and develops relationships at Executive level with new and existing accounts.
  • Actively drives and proposes activities (both internal and external) to maintain customer satisfaction in the region.
  • Proposes strategy for growth and leads Industrial Sales Team in the Region.
  • Liaise with product order fulfilment & project delivery teams to ensure efficient post-order service.
  • Drives the marketing and sales of products, services and solutions in the region with the support of local sales offices and other channels through regular communication, visits and meetings.
  • Actively supports the region’s sales offices in the execution of their sales plans.
  • Drive Sales Team in Bid activities, approve Quotes within authority limits, review and approve Customer contracts.
  • Designs and implements channel strategies for market/region with regional staff (direct, distributors, agents, reps, Integrators) and develop partnerships where relevant for growing the business.
  • Develop the Sub Sahara Africa Industrial Sales Team by defining, selecting and delivering special training and recruiting new talent.
  • Manages all Sub Sahara Africa Industrial sales staff at branch and remote sales office locations in region.
  • Build strong working relationships with Operations, Services and the Sales team.
  • Comply with internal reporting requirements.
  • Performs tasks and oversees special projects and assignments as may be assigned by the Managing Director.
  • Promotes a positive global Company image.
  • Provides leadership in improving a customer-focused culture.
