Senior Arrangement & Piping Engineer

Our client is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of quality electrical products including electrical motors, transformers and power cables. The primary distribution has continued to proactively cater to the mining, powergeneration, manufacturing and petrochemical industries. They employ in excess of 6 000 people. It has 27 operating units, 22 production facilities and 25 distribution centres throughout South Africa.

Requirements:

• BSc Engineering
• Minimum 4 years' relevant experience;
• Experience in mining, petrochemical, process plant (mineral processing, hyrdromet and pyromet) and/or infrastructure projects and operations advantageous
• Good appreciation of project management and engineering fundamentals, preferably in an EPCM environment
• Codes and Standards
• Should have knowledge of Piping Codes like ASME 31.1/31.3 /ANSI/EN/PED/SANS/OSHA/EHS.

Piping and Arrangement Activities

• Knowledge in Interpretation of P&ID, line list, Valve list and Vendor Drawings.
• Knowledge in Material selection and Piping Material Specification.
• Comprehensive knowledge in documents required for Detailed Piping design and deliverables.
• Equipment Arrangement Diagram.
• Knowledge of Design Equipment Layout, Piping GAD and Piping deliverables.
• Conceptual line Routing Diagram as per P&ID and PFD.
• Piping design using PDMS Piping Module.
• Piping Reports extraction.
• Checking Isometric with PMS, P&ID, Valve list and Line list.
• Piping GAD using PDMS Draft.
• Piping MTO handling and control for the project.
• Preparation of As-built Drawings.
• Interaction with all disciplines / Client / licensors / team / vendors / site contractors.
• Conducting Model Reviews/Accessibility and Maintainability Reviews/other reviews using Navis Works.

Stress Analysis

• Prepare Critical Line list.
• Basic Flexibility calculations.
• Flexibility analysis for Critical lines.
• Assure that Nozzle loads are within the specified limits.

Support Design

• Selection of supports (Rigid and Non Rigid) and Support Design calculation.
• Modeling Support as per the given Loads.
• Support Drawing.

PDMS Activities

• Working experience in PDMS in Piping, Equipment and Draft modules.
• Knowledge in PDMS structures.
• Knowledge in PDMS Macros.
• Working Experience in Alstom Environment Preferable.

General

• Interface Management and Change Management.
• Working at Site Preferable.
• Must be fit to work at site.
