Senior Electrical Designer

Description and Desired Qualifications

• Providing outstanding engineering services on every project. Our Senior Electrical Designer position is your chance to work on exciting and engaging large-scale construction design, design/build and redesign for high-tech, metals, and industrial manufacturing facilities. Each day you will serve as an expert on a multi-discipline, highly interactive and coordinated team providing engineering expertise in electrical, infrastructure and related design. You should be a self-motivated professional with a successful 10 year track record in electrical design, experience on metals facilities, and have a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each new electrical design job.

Our Senior Electrical Designers:

• Have an understanding and working knowledge of computer and AutoCAD skills (Microstation and/or Revit a plus).
• Have knowledge of the devices shown on the Electrical Legend and how they are used.
• Are capable of directing other designers and drafters.
• Are capable of consistently estimating accurate completion times for his/her own work and other drafters he/ she has worked with.
• Must have an understanding of the contents of project packages and organizing those packages for review, stamping and signing and issuing.
• Have a good understanding of the NEC.
• Are capable of laying out overall one-line diagrams on small and medium projects and sizing the equipment.
• Size conduit and conductors for 600V feeders and branch circuits.
• Develop motor control center one line diagrams, with basic understanding of starter sizing and overload protection.
• Are capable of physically sizing electrical equipment and electrical rooms.
• Are able to read schematics and translate into conduit and cable schedules.
• Design and route cable tray and conduit (size per NEC requirements).
• Design underground ductbanks (both low and medium voltage).

Basic Qualifications

• 10 years of experience working on electrical design projects
• Project experience with metals facilities
