Analyst-Coal

Position Summary

• Detail analysis of title opinion, leases, deeds, and other contracts and legal documents to determine ownership and status of the same.

Target Responsibilities

• Order and review title opinions relative to mining.
• Prepare and/or obtain necessary documentation to cure title defects.
• Analyze and review leases for terms and conditions.
• Prepare summaries of property and title reports for mine plans.
• Assist Land Agents with heirship issues.
• Respond to inter-departmental requests, particularly from Land Acquisitions and Drafting departments.
• Assist with research, analysis and maintenance of abstract and title
• Comply with all Company safety policies.
• Comply with Title Department Standard Operating Procedures.
• Successfully function in a collegial team environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or two years’ experience in real estate, legal (including paralegal), and/or coal related fields preferred.
• Requires flexibility with changing priorities and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously within deadline requirements.
• Must possess strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills (verbal and written).
• The ability to solve routine issues with minimal supervision and the ability to work in multi-team environment.
• Well organized, detail oriented, demonstrate creativity and innovation in approach.
• Must be a self-starter, motivated, with good organizational & reasoning skills.
• Possess working knowledge of functions of Land Department and general computer skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Word and Excel.
