Buyer / Expeditor - Procurement

Department Description

• Responsible for the procurement of specialized equipment and services. Responsible for expediting purchase orders and organizing vendor required documentation.

Detailed Description

• Responsible for placing purchase orders for the procurement of specialized equipment and services.
• Responsible for negotiating and obtaining competitive supplier pricing.
• Responsible for expediting all purchase orders and required vendor documents.
• Responsible for on time delivery of goods from supplier.
• Build and maintain relationships with worldwide suppliers.
• Assist in the organization and data control of supplied vendor documents.
• Handle special projects as assigned.
• Work in a team environment.

Job Requirements

• Experience with procurement of specialized equipment and services.
• Experience with the outsourcing of mechanical equipment and components.
• Experience with expediting vendor information as required by purchase order.
• Degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience/education.
• Familiarity with an MRP system (Materials Requirements Planning)
• Must be able to interpret engineering drawings.
• Must be able to set priorities, plan/organize/work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience with computers required. Prefer Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Travel: Less than 10% travel. Travel to suppliers.
