Maintenance Supervisor - Digestion

Position Description

• Located 125 miles southwest of Houston, Alcoa Point Comfort Operations supplies alumina -- the compound from which aluminum is made -- to Alcoa’s  global production system – the largest network of refineries and smelters in the world. Alcoa Point Comfort Operations has been a member of the Calhoun County Community since 1948 when it constructed the first aluminum production facility powered by natural gas. Since 1980, however, alumina has been Point Comfort Operation’s primary product. • Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, this position provides the leadership and technical skill to insure the safe, effective, and economical maintenance service for the Digestion area equipment, facilities, grounds, and road to ensure maximum continuity of plant production with minimum downtime and provides technical support at a standard consistent with long-term operational objectives.
• The position also provides management and team building leadership necessary to ensure efficient work techniques, effective personnel performance standards, productive utilization of equipment, materials, and labor resources, compliance with governmental regulations, and production of high quality products at optimum cost.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Maintenance organization in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment.
• 3 years’ experience as a Supervisor/Manager
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer skills required especially Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with CMMS systems.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Additional education preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Project preferred, not required.
