AMC Consultants is a leading mining consultancy, providing services exclusively to the minerals sector. We are experiencing an exciting period of growth and have a number of interesting opportunities available. 

Our Brisbane office is currently seeking a Principal Geologist - Coal with the following skills and qualifications:
 
Job Description:
The role is to manage all coal project work including resource estimation, exploration and mining reviews, due diligence and valuation. 

This position provides diversity and challenge as you will be working on Australian and international projects, from grassroots exploration to mine operations. You will be joining a strong and very experienced team of geologists and engineers, working in an environment where initiative, originality, skill, practical experience and the ability to communicate effectively adds real value to both AMC’s and our clients’ businesses. 



Specialist skills required: 
  • Geological experience in open pit and/or underground coal operations. 
  • Coal exploration experience including drill planning, supervision, logging, geophysics and coal quality. 
  • Data QA/QC and statistical analysis. 
  • Geological interpretation and resource estimation, using industry standard software packages. 
  • Ability to identify and apply appropriate resource estimation techniques including a knowledge of geostatistical techniques. 
  • Ability to accept Competent Person responsibility for Coal Resource Statements as per JORC Code requirements. 
  • Strong communication and report writing skills. 


Qualifications required: 
  • Degree in geology with a minimum of 16-20 years of geological and resource estimation experience in a variety of coal settings. 
  • Membership of an industry recognised professional organisation.
 
The salary packages offered will be commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
