HSE Advisor

Our client owns and manages mining and processing operations located in North America and Australia. Their aim is to be known as the global leader in the mining and metals industry.

They also have a reputation for responsible business and employ some of the best people in their respected industry.


The role will be working across two sites an Open pit with site-based processing facilities producing 23 mtpa of high grade ore through a central processing plant fed by three mines and another large Open pit operation with site-based processing facilities. It will support the Facilities team for the mine sites infrastructure ensuring the operations risk is minimized.


Adopting industry best practice at all times will be a necessity to ensure the successful implantation of safe work practices on site as this has become an urgent requirement. This will be an ideal opportunity to deploy your skills and experience allowing you to provide a significant contribution to the Assets operations and be recognized for your efforts.
The key driver for this role will be to build rapport on site and maintain positive interface with the facilities team.


The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years experience in the mining industry preferably with site experience together with a strong commitment towards health and safety as you will be providing expert advice and support to management ensuring they understand and manage health and safety risks across both sites.


You will be given the chance to assist with implementation of the strategic Health and safety management plan combined with developing and maintaining productive working relationships with our key customers and service providers.


Your mandate will extend to Recording and reporting on monthly health and safety statistics. In return for providing your drive to develop your HSE career, increasing knowledge base and expertise to this Mine Owner and Operator our client is offering an attractive package including a very attractive 9-5 Rotation to site, good hourly rate and a possible permanent move after a successful contract tenure including. With this role being part of various multibillion dollar projects we require you to be highly experienced and MUST be able to meet the following requirements; 
  • Implement and maintain the Project OSHMP, procedures and Client, OS&H standards throughout the project.
  • Mentor and support project based safety and management team personnel with advice and direction in relation to project OS&H systems and issues.
  • Undertake statistical analysis and ensure all audits are conducted in accordance with the project audit schedule.
  • Maintain interface with contractors and client representatives regarding compliance HSE guidelines
  • JHA and Take 5 Auditing for Quality, task specific and compliance
  • Assist in identifying HSE training (and awareness) needs for the project
  • Coordinate and conduct training courses
  • Actively participate in and support Zero Incident and Injury culture
  • Pre-empt problems to the HSE performance and recommend strategies to overcome delay
  • Actively participate in and support Incident and Injury Free culture
  • Incident investigation

To be considered for the positions we require:

  • Occupational Health and safety Qualifications
  • Tap Root Knowledge
  • Investigation Training
  • 2 years minimum experience as an HSE Advisor
  • Proven understanding of current OS&H legislation.
  • Effective Written & Verbal communication skills
  • Actively participate in and support Incident and Injury
