WorkPac has been engaged to recruit a Contract Exploration Geologist with a demonstrated ability to deliver outcomes, utilising a strong process, data management and QA/QC reporting framework for a large multi-national mining house.
As the Exploration Geologist you are responsible for the oversight of the programme including things like sample quality, Data Acquisition and control and reporting which input into the modelling of the resource and the contractual compliance of the sub contractors. A geo tech will support this function.
Reporting to the Senior Resource Geologist, this role is primarily responsible for the coordination of an RC Drilling program, ensuring accurate collection, collation, interpretation and reporting of geological information. Starting in the first week of July the RC drill program is anticipated to run until the wet season calls a halt, usually around mid January and working 14 on 14 off.
Tasks Include:
•Drilling exploration programs
•Resource modelling and data integrity auditting
•Hydrogeology and geotechnical understanding
•Geology logging, sampling, and testing techniques
•Data acquisition, management, modelling and reporting (Vulcan etc)
Experience:
We are seeking applications from persons with experience in exploration. It is highly regarded that successful applicants hold experience in:
•RC or Diamond Drilling exploration programs (Or remote Field Exp)
•Knowledge of modelling and data integrity
•Geology logging, sampling, and testing techniques
•Computer Experience - Data acquisition, management, modelling and reporting experience highly regarded.
•Experience with Tabular ore bodies highly regarded
Remuneration:
This is a contract rate including accommodation, meals and travel expenses.
