Software Engineer

Position Summary

• Under general direction in a team environment, design, develop and deploy solutions in our internal suite of custom applications leveraging the Microsoft .NET technology. The person, working directly with other team members, will gather internal customer requirements, develop functional and technical design specifications, develop, test and deliver solutions to our internal customers. Provide training for less experienced team members. Technical expertise in a Microsoft .NET development environment, SQL database applications, and Object Oriented design methodologies required. Good English communication skills required. Experience working with an offshore team is a plus.

Functional Expertise

• Must display proficiency for the software development language(s)or application development tools necessary to complete assignments. Examples include: Microsoft .NET, SQL Server, Microsoft Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, etc…
• Develops software that models business solutions using Object Oriented Design and Development techniques.
• Develop functional and technical design specifications, test plans, security requirements, cost estimates, and resource requirements that meet customer requirements.
• Experience using Design Patterns to implement business solutions.
• Ability to model a technical solution to a business problem using UML (Universal Modeling Language) tools and techniques.
• Independently designs and architects systems with no supervision.
• Insures that all systems and services delivered are in compliance with established policies and baselines.
• Keeps an awareness of the latest trends and industry standards within the technology domain with practical experience applying them to solve complex business solutions.
• Apply change management techniques with regard to applications.
• Develops short and long-range plans that are appropriately comprehensive, realistic and effective in meeting goals; integrates planning efforts across work units.

Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements:

• Bachelors in Computer Science or Management Information Systems or related experience. Microsoft certifications desirable.

Experience Requirements:

• Typically requires 5+ years of related experience in the field of Microsoft based software development. Broad based background in application design and development.
