Are you our next Maintenance Mechanic?
- We are currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Hookers Prairie, Florida location. The purpose of this position is to utilize expertise/experience to support the repair and maintenance of plant and field resources, as necessary. Specific projects/tasks are assigned, based on the Preventative Maintenance Schedules, as well as unplanned and Repairs/Troubleshooting. This includes, but not limited to, all plant/field process equipment as needed, (i.e. pumps, slurry pumps, deep-water pumps, belt conveyors), welding metal components together to fabricate or repair pumps, motors, brackets, piping and motor parts according to layouts, blueprints or work orders using a variety of welding equipment.
What will you do?
- Diagnoses pump malfunctions using hand held testers and visual inspection.
- Dismantles pumps for replacement or repair by use of basic hand and power tools.
- Lubricates moving parts or replaces worn parts to prevent breakdown or malfunctions.
- Visually checks pumps for leaks or defective valves.
- Communicates both verbally and in writing with coworkers and supervisors.
- Operates man-lift, aerial basket, cranes, forklift and boom-truck.
- Be vigilant of issues and conditions that can affect their fellow workers.
- Report any issues that can impact the environment or the safety of the employees.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School diploma or GED Certificate and 5 years of appropriate technical training in industrial maintenance courses required.
- Technical Degree/Certificate in Industrial Maintenance preferred.
- General Maintenance Technical Certification.
- Ability to utilize computers to initiate work orders. Utilize Microsoft Suite.
- Experience in an industrial maintenance setting.
- Physical work environment includes frequently outdoors and frequent exposure to varying temperatures from below 32 degrees to above 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Ability to safely move in and through work areas, including climbing stairs, maintaining good balance, being mentally alert, having good visual acuity, and safely working at heights.
- Ability to safely work in and around heavy industrial environment, including moving objects, fluids, concentrated chemicals and transport vehicles.
- Must meet fitness for duty criteria under Company Medical Management Program.
- Diagnoses pump malfunctions using hand held testers and visual inspection.
- Dismantles pumps for replacement or repair by use of basic hand and power tools.
- Lubricates moving parts or replaces worn parts to prevent breakdown or malfunctions.
- Applying up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs. unassisted and regularly.
- Able to read, write and understand Basic English.
- Distinguishing characteristics of objects using the eyes. Ability to receive detailed information through visual contact. Ability to perceive or recognize similarities or difference in colors and shades.
- Ability to move fingers and manipulate small objects with the fingers rapidly or accurately.
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make fine distinctions in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on machined parts.
- Able to work in tight or closed-in spaces.
- Able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required.
- Physically able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for 300 pounds or less.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- If selected to participate in the Pre-employment testing process with Mosaic you will be required to take the following battery of tests: DDI, Mechanic Specific Aptitude/Skills Tests
- Selected candidates will be required to successfully complete the following:
- Post-offer/pre-placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.
- Pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
