HSE Coordinator - Manufacturing

This multi national company is an industry leader in the manufacturing and development of pipes and pipeline solutions. Servicing the water and mining industry they have clients worldwide and are renowned for the quality of their products.  An opportunity has arisen for an experienced HSE Coordinator to join their Melbourne team.  Initially you will be employed for a fixed 12-18 month term with potential to go permanent after this time. 
 
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the environmental, health, and safety management systems in accordance to the relevant standards. You will support and drive safety initiatives across the site, promoting a safety first culture. Other responsibilities include monthly reporting, incident investigation, and managing the return to work process. Previous experience in a similar position within manufacturing or heavy industry is essential. 
 
To succeed in this role you will possess the following:

• Long term experience in a similar role within manufacturing or heavy industry
• Relevant qualifications (Occupational Health & Safety)
• Experience with maintaining, improving, and auditing HSE systems -  AS4801, ISO9001, ISO14001
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to relate to people within different positions across the workplace.
• Thorough understanding of policies, procedures, and legislation such as the Workplace Health and Safety Act and the Environmental Protection Act.
