Our client is a world class business, built on the strengths of an alliance and is part of the world's largest diversified resources company managing seven mines and a port in Central Queensland.


To assist in their underground operations we are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contracts Superintendent to shift manage their underground operations located in the Bowen Basin.


Reporting to the Production Manager, you will possess solid underground experience and qualifications, as well as sound communication and leadership skills.

Your duties will include:

• Proactively drive and promote safe work behaviours
• Coordinate and supervise both maintenance and production teams and activities ensuring safety, efficiency and productivity
• Develop and implement plans
• Supervise/manage up to 100 employees
• Confidently make decisions in accordance with statutory and site requirements
• Act as the “go to person” between the client and contractors
• Develop, mentor and lead crews

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• 5-10 years underground mining experience (coal preferred)
• Sound experience supervising underground large shift maintenance and production teams and activities
• Sound dispute resolution experience
• An overriding commitment to living a 'zero harm' culture
• An ability to work a continuous roster
