Director, IT Security

Position Summary

• The Director of IT Security is a security technologist responsible for implementing and operating IT related Security processes and technologies to meet Rockwell Automation’s Information Security program as governed by the Chief Information Security Officer’s (CISO) and Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) offices. The Director, Information Security manages a team of security professionals focused on implementing and administering IT Security policies, technologies, solutions, and processes to secure corporate applications, data, computers and networks. Directs all activities of the Information Technology Security Program. Sets clear vision for organizational alignment, and ensures that business operations are carried out while reducing exposure of IT and information assets to an acceptable level of risk. Directs all Annual Operating Plan activities, maintains departmental budget for capital and expense budgets. Responsible for hiring, developing, and retaining an optimal workforce to achieve departmental goals. In addition to directing the overall engineering and operational aspects of IT security the Director of IT Security will coordinate with the CISO’s office and IT Architecture to drive long-term planning and build out of the Enterprise IT Security Architecture, as well as, provide input to the design of the Information Security Framework.

Minimum Qualifications

• The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline. 
• A master’s degree is preferred.
• 10 or more years of progressive information technology, IT operations and Security technology solutions experience in roles of increasing responsibility. 
• Cyber security experience, including strategy creation and management of cyber security response, a plus.
• A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience with demonstrated success in a leadership role.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the security team's concern for customers.
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP, ISC or CISM) preferred.
