Associate Project Controls Specialist II
Job Description
- Under general supervision, performs Project Controls activities. Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Understands the scheduling/cost/accounting basic terminology of the scheduling/cost/ accounting field, its principles, practices, and concepts, as well as contract commercial provisions and interpretations
- Applies the principles of a Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to schedule/cost data to ensure that the data are correctly and consistently entered into the Project Controls System
- Interprets procedures for a project scheduling/cost program
- Participates in the Commercial Alignment Process and prepares the Checklist for the Project Business Plan
- Collects data, inputs updates, and produces basic cost/scheduling management reports. Requires efficiency and accuracy in generating and gathering data. Maintains orderly records to ensure the integrity of the system
- Provides general supervision of the work of lower-level Project Controls Technicians and Clerks
- Possesses strong personal computer skills and proficiency in the use of automated cost/schedule management systems. Uses Project Controls reference systems as primary tools for executing responsibilities
- Takes responsibility for self-checking the accuracy of his/her work and that of subordinates, if applicable
- Provides and collects historical information
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Job Requirements
- Prefer a four-year Bachelors technical degree or nontechnical Bachelor’s degree with business and computer software courses plus one to two years of relevant Engineering, Construction, or Project Controls experience, or five years of relevant Engineering, Construction, or Project Controls experience. Persons who do not possess a college degree may substitute a relevant certificate or diploma for the number of years of experience.
