Area Manager

Diverse and challenging new role for an Area Manager to work on the construction of a new power station. You will be the client rep working out of the Perth office with a long term contract and top rates of pay. 


With this multibillion dollar mining project currently in construction, the next requirement is to decommission the existing power station and reconstruct a new combined cycle power station with approximately 220MW of new generating capacity. As the Area Manager you will join the EPCM but be seconded to the owners team to oversee and run the construction of this power station leading a large team along the way.


The right candidate for the role will have demonstrable track record of: 

• Being able to approach project tasks analytically and logically 
• Managing, mentoring and developing a diverse team of construction staff 
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and being able to implement cost control measures 
• Understanding equipment application. 
• Excellent commercial acumen (contracts, procurement, cost, planning etc) 
• Forming collaborative relationships within the business and externally 
• Excellent communications skills especially when dealing with peers, senior management and the client 
• Assessing and mitigating project risks 
• Strong organizational skills 
• Understanding and championing HSE regulations and standards

Our Client is looking for an experienced Area Project Engineer who has a proven background in delivering extensive large scale materials handling projects within a Client or EPCM organisation.


As an ideal candidate you will possess:

• Must have tertiary engineering qualifications or equivalent 
• Ability to communicate with peers, senior management and Client 
• Ability to prepare budgets and forecasts 
• Minimum 10 years project engineering experience 
• Previous EPCM experience is essential 
• Proven background working on a power station
