This top tier contractor has gone from strength to strength in the Australian market and has now developed extremely strong relationships with their clients and sub contractors due to their quality of work, which has inturn seen them awarded a number of large projects.
My client is looking for an experienced Environmental manger or coordinator that is up for a challenge and enjoys the thrill of making a difference within the environment. This contractor gains satisfaction from providing ongoing training, support and the opportunity for staff to further progress their careers.
Key Responsibilities:
Driving leading practice in environmental management and sustainability outcomes
Prepare HSE management plans for tenders and aid in the revision of project and corporate plan
Managing the relationship between the Project, the regulators and authorities in relation to environmental standards compliance and impact targets.
Carry out audits both internal/external and risk assessments for work locations
Overseeing the implementation of the Project Environmental Management Plan and associated systems and practices
Requirements:
A Bachelor of Engineering within either Civil or Environmental specialisation
5-10+ years experience in civil construction or related industry
Knowledge of environmental sciences/engineering systems, principles, and methodologies.
Experience in environmental monitoring and compliance inspection during construction.
Working with the environmental legislation ensuring compliance to the said legislation
Strong Communication, Management and Negotiation skills
Have a drive to ensure that environmental awareness on the site are to the forefront of the works
Highly self motivated
