Mechanic (Mobile Service)

Job Description:          

• Currently seeking highly motivated team player who is an experienced medium to heavy duty diesel truck technician for our mobile service and repair shop in the Truck and Trailer division of Empire Southwest. Must have a clean driving record, a current CDL, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in bumper to bumper maintenance and repairs with a high emphasis in PM's and troubleshooting. Duties include performing PM's, DOT inspections, repair, recondition, and service all makes and model diesel trucks. Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair malfunctions and failures of cooling systems, brakes, climate control, electrical, structural, drive train, engines systems, and their components. Experience with Japanese medium duty vehicles is a plus (Fuso, Isuzu, UD, Hino).

Requirements:

• Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions as needed. Must be willing to work out of town and the occasional overnight stay when necessary. Communicate verbally and in writing, information, instructions and explanations to associates, customers, and management regarding vehicle/component/equipment conditions, problems, recommendations, and repair processes. Basic computer and internet knowledge is required, as well as knowledge in operating scanning/diagnostic tools.
