HR Consultant

My client, global consulting firm who assists public and private clients to plan, develop, design, construct, operate, and maintain critical infrastructure projects around the world, is looking for an HR Consultant (Durban).

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience

Knowledge/Skills/Requirements:

  • MS Word (including setting up and maintaining templates)
  • MS Excel; MS Outlook; MS PowerPoint; MS Project
  • Must be a licensed driver with his/her own vehicle
  • Working knowledge of Oracle is preferable
  • Worked in support of a diverse team, preferably for an international company
  • Operational HR generalist skills and experience
  • Preferably, exposure to an engineering consultancy environment

Responsibilities:

  • Timeous recruitment of top quality staff in line with budgeted headcount while ensuring adherence to recruitment processes and approvals
  • Ensuring adherence to SA legislation and company policies with the implementation of processes and procedures
  • Full IR (Industrial Relations) function for your department
  • Timeous submission of accurate payroll input
  • Monitoring the Skills Development Plan for your department as well as administration and preparation of Training data
  • Assistance with staff liaison and support to management on compensation and benefits e.g. remuneration reviews and other general HR information
  • Accurate processing of staff data on Oracle and updating thereof
  • Successful implementation of the company’s performance management process including succession planning
  • Induction of new employees in line with the company’s new employee processes
  • Assisting with queries related to leave-taking
  • Effective communication/engagement with line management and ensuring timeous and effective information flow to employees
  • Ensuring Personnel files are kept updated and all documentation is in line with audit requirements
  • Updating of company organograms for your department
  • Updating of monthly headcount reports
  • Update and maintain business unit EE plan
  • Liaise with Head office T&D staff on sourcing training requirements for the QS business unit
  • Ensure that all employee retention letters for training is timeously completed and issued to the relevant employees
  • Act as a link between the service provider and the employees on all medical aid and pension fund related issues
  • General HR administrative tasks as and when required
  • Provide management reports on HR related matters
  • Attend business unit management meeting on a monthly basis and provide feedback on all HR related issues
