Senior Lead Electrical Engineer P.E. - Power Plants
Description and Desired Qualifications
- Perform electrical engineering on large EPC projects
- Coordinate with construction, purchase and expedite the electrical equipment, and manage clients and remote offices.
- Responsible for new business efforts requiring preliminary engineering and major equipment pricing.
- Specify and select electrical equipment suitable for the application.
- Develop electrical one-lines, and three-lines with a team of process, electrical, and controls engineers.
- Supervise electrical designers in the layout of duct banks, cable tray, conduit, ground grids, lighting plans.
- Develop control schematics and installation details.
- Mentor less experienced electrical engineers.
- Compose equipment and construction specifications.
- Review the work of other electrical engineers.
- Develops project plan and scope of work and executes within budget.
- Establishes design concepts and design data for work assigned to group and assures technical accuracy and conformance to project requirements.
- Represents department in coordinating with other departments, Project Managers and Clients.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 12 years’ experience in electrical systems in Engineering/Construction Industry
- Must have experience with relay and fuse coordination studies
- Must have experience with SKM, ETAP, or EDSA load flow, short circuit analysis software.
- Must be familiar with grounding and lightning protection studies.
- Possesses a very high degree of technical expertise in electrical engineering.
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- The ability to accommodate a temporary duty assignment in the [Company] Denver office for up to one year.
Preferred Qualifications
- 15 years’ experience in electrical systems for power generation facilities
- Experience as an electrical group leader on an EPC power project.
