Plant Electrical Supervisor

Position Summary

• This is a training position for supervisory/management positions responsible for the safe and efficient processing, cleaning and loading of coal to meet customer specifications in a cost-effective manner. It is assigned to the Preparation Plant and provides work directly to the safe operation of Preparation plant equipment, electrical maintenance, and general labor support for the operation.

Target Responsibilities

• Adopt and practice the Absolute Zero approach to safety.
• Promptly report all adverse conditions.
• Maintain a safe, efficient and clean work site, and hazard free working conditions.
• Shadow experienced technicians, mechanics and supervisors to understand general Preparation Plant operations.
• Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the processing of coal in general work areas.
• Learn Plant electrical systems, PLC logic and controls, communications systems and wiring schematics.
• Must comply with company, mine and regulatory policies and approved procedures.
• Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner.
• Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine and plant.
• The successful candidate is required to have or must obtain all applicable electrical certifications as required by both state and federal law

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors and/or Associates degree in engineering, mechanics, industrial technology or related field is required 1-2 years related experience or proven knowledge in production operations or electrical & mechanical maintenance
• Supervisory experience is helpful.
• Proven effective verbal communication skills strongly preferred.
• Proven effective critical thinking and comprehension skills strongly preferred.
• Must be willing to work shift rotation, overtime, weekends and holidays as the schedule requires.
• Must be able to lift, carry, pull/push, climb, shovel, walk, pry and work on/near moving equipment as required by the job assignment.
