Business Unit Description

• [Company] Heat Transfer is a leading manufacturer of heat transfer equipment serving the power generation industry.  Our products, branded as Yuba feedwater heaters and Ecolaire condensers, have earned a reputation for quality for more than fifty years.

Job Summary

• The primary purpose of this position is to manage post-sale projects to ensure technical compliance to customer specifications, ASME design, industry standards and specifications, and to support delivery, fabrication and budget requirements.  The incumbent is responsible for completing engineering assignments on-time and within budget.  Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for performing required calculations to develop cost-effective equipment designs.  Key criteria include technical skills, broad engineering knowledge, sound engineering and business judgment, strong communication skills, broad knowledge of the industry, initiative and innovation and the ability to simultaneously keep track of multiple projects.  The incumbent will work under general supervision.  This position involves domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

• Confirm product documentation is in compliance with the customer’s specification, company and industry standards and ASME codes
• Review and evaluate contracts, specifications and drawings and interpret and clarify the scope, final product design, and procurement requirements
• Perform required calculations to develop cost-effective equipment designs that meet contract requirements, company standards and policies, and appropriate engineering principles
• Provide quality requests to the Drafting Department that are on-time and complete enabling them to complete customer and manufacturing drawings and maintain project schedules
• Prepare required drawings, documents and other deliverables to internal and external customers to meet contract and schedule requirements
• Consult with internal and external technical and commercial personnel to address and resolve project related issues
• Manage projects, schedule tasks and maintain engineering project files
• Make recommendations to improve and update techniques, materials, design standards and work procedures to improve performance and/or efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field required
• 3-5 years engineering experience, preferably in a related manufacturing environment
• Good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare proposals and technical reports and ability to communicate will all levels within and external to the company
• Proficient with AutoCAD, Inventor and thermal and mechanical design software programs
