About the Company:  Our client is a leading provider of supply chain services to the major mining and resources giants in over 10 countries. Providing logistic support delivering fuel and consumer goods to the FMCG, Retail, Resources and Infrastructure industries across Australia.
 
About the Role: National Health & Safety Manager required to streamline processes and procedures across the Resources and Infrastructure business unit. 

• By understanding the corporate safety strategy you are responsible for developing the R&I strategy to reflect these standards. 
• Demonstrating performance by achieving the set safety goals in relation to corporate, business unit and site standard.
• Working closely with each Site HSE Advisor you will be required to analyse current safe working practices and ensure they are in line with the corporate safety goals. You will be required to provide appropriate site support where needed to ensure these practices are implemented to achieve an incident free workplace.
• Being up to date with current legislation is a vital part of this role, ensuring safety strategies are kept in line with industry guidelines at all times.
• Regular reporting of the progress of each business unit and suggesting improvements where necessary. Undertake site inspections to ensure safety regulations are adhered to. Investigate incidents to find the cause and contributing factors using the Incident Cause Analysis Methodology (ICAM)
• Recommend preventative actions to prevent reoccurring incidents.
• Ensuring all site documentation including policies, procedures and permits are monitored and up to date.
• Chair monthly leadership meetings to coach and support business unit safety managers to enforce safety standards and targets.
• Ensure the continuance of the Comcare Self Insurance Licence by coordination of internal and external audits.
• Review and communication of emergency management procedures

Requirements: 

• Tertiary Qualification in a Health and Safety  related Discipline
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Safety Supervisor or Manager
• Experience of streamlining processes and procedure across business unit, sites and across staff
• Sound knowledge of Risk Management methodologies and auditing processes.
• Experience in Internal/and or External Auditing and Health & Safety Training
• Experience in a warehousing, transport, logistics or supply chain environment
• Influential communication skills
