Heavy Equipment Operator

Description and Desired Qualifications

Our Heavy Equipment Operators:

• Operate equipment consisting of but not limited to: graders, dozers, 2.5 and 5 yard loaders, scrapers, skid steers, trachoes, backhoes, rollers, water trucks, semi-trucks, and Trailers.
• Construct dirt road for supply travel final grader for asphalt.
• Observe work site and equipment to detect and protect against unsafe or hazardous operating conditions.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs to motorized vehicles and equipment operated.
• Assist and participate in major repair work and related maintenance activities, as assigned.
• Operate equipment over rough, rocky, steep surfaces, mountainous terrain, etc.
• Additional Operator - Equipment Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Possess knowledge of the functional operation, purpose, capabilities and limitations of and the proper manner in which to operate and maintain all specific pieces of equipment they are qualified to operate; be able to read instrumentation gages, understand the results and what each gage signifies and demonstrate the safe accessories within the range of each piece of equipment operated.
• Ability to read, interpret or use capacity charts, rigging diagrams, common hand signals, grade stakes or other applicable drawings.
• Knowledge of computerized components in various kinds of machinery disabilities.

Basic Qualifications

• Four (4) years’ experience in operating construction equipment including Graders, Dozers, 2.5 and 5 yard loaders, Scrapers, Skid Steers, Trachoe, Backhoes, Rollers, Water trucks, Semi trucks, and trailers.
