Business Development Manager

Our Client specialises in the provision of steel fabrication services for the mining and resource sector. An Emerald based firm that is rapidly growing is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager to join their team. The Business Development Manager will be required to further develop relationships within their existing client base. There is a strong focus on account management and exceeding service level expectations.


Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Promoting product awareness to new and existing clients.
  • Actively and successfully manage the sales process: lead generation; credentials pitch; asking questions; solution pitch; negotiation; close and follow up.
  • Active account management of existing clients to maximise repeat business.
  • Active and continuous client follow up post project delivery.
  • Lead generation and appointment setting of new clients.
  • Preparing quotes for new project work and active follow up to close sales.
  • Create and be accountable for all client proposals, contracts and any supporting documentation.
  • Source and facilitate in the design and engineering of projects.
  • Day to day management of project workflow to ensure products and services are delivered on time and as per client specifications.
  • Oversee workshop operations including production workflow, new plant & equipment manufacture, design and construction activities when required.

The skills and attributes required for success in this role include:
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in sales / business administration or related field.
  • Industry experience is essential (must come from fabrication, engineering or mining).
  • Demonstrated experience in new business development initiatives and activities.
  • Proven success in fostering and developing existing client relations.
  • Proven success in sales conversion from quote to close of sale.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships, develop commercial partnerships and achieve overall sales and profitability targets.
  • Ability to analyse market needs and trends, and identify and deliver marketing/sales strategies.
  • Strong relationship building skills.

Salary on offer is dependent on experience but ranges from $110k - $125k package plus car, phone and bonuses. If this sounds like the opportunity for you apply now.
