Description

Our client are one of the world’s largest gold mining companies with over twenty mining operations across five continents, eleven of which were found within the Australia Pacific region, they also have many advanced exploration projects located.

Within the Yilgarn Operations there are four owner operated Gold Mines in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. Our client is currently seeking an experienced Mine Geologist to join their Underground team.

Reporting to the Chief Geologist, you will be responsible for the following duties and activities:

·    Ensure the schedule of mapping and sampling activities to minimise disruption to production
·    Works closely with Production Geologists, Senior Field Supervisor and carry out quality control on face mapping, wall mapping, back mapping, sample collection, documentation and delivery
·    Complete grade control face mapping, wall mapping, back mapping
·    Develop, design, all aspects of UG development drives (PBM) for checking by Project Geologist.
·    Assisting in the management of daily UG stats (tonnes and grades)
·    Direct liaison with the Drilling contractor at the drill rig, checking and conducting safety audits on all drilling activity
·    Ensure holes are logged and that relevant data is updated on production sections
·    Geological and Geotechnical logging of both operating and capital drilling core
·    Complete end-of-hole procedures.
·    Supervise, coach, train Productions Geologist in core logging procedures

Skills & Abilities

The successful applicant must have the following qualifications and experience:

·    Recognised tertiary qualifications in Geology
·    A working understanding in Achaean Geology as well as the functioning of an Underground Mine Operation
·    Knowledge of drilling and sampling activities
·    Understanding of relevant sections of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations.
·    Good knowledge of mine planning software including Vulcan
·    Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence
·    St Johns Senior First Aid certificate desirable
