Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Working for one of the highest profile multinational conglomerates in Australia who have a world renowned reputation in the steel production/iron ore sector you will report through the Engineering Manager and join the business to strategically structure this large Greenfield Mine Port and landside development project in a way that supports construction and operations strategy engaging key stakeholders during the FEED process and final project review.


General duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Provide high level technical support in relation to design and engineering services for mechanical and piping engineering projects
• Liaise with other department engineers and draftspersons to ensure project goals are met
• Earthworks, roads, dams, drainage, water supply and buildings
• Monitor progress and initiating remedial action where required to ensure mechanical engineering projects are completed on time and within budget
• As this is a major materials handling project, all applicants must show a proven track record in working on large scale mining projects for the client or EPCM

Of particular importance will be your instrumental involvement in developing strategic direction and plans to your designated package.


As an ideal candidate you will have:

• Tertiary qualification in Mechanical discipline
• You MUST have a proven track record in mining/materials handling projects
• At Least 10 years experience with 5 years on EPCM/Client side
• Iron Ore mining experience
• An Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Experience with stackers, reclaimers, car dumpers, ship loaders and conveyors
