Reports to 
Engineering Services Manager


  • Specialist skills required
  • Underground coal experience (Mandatory)
  • Provide engineering support for the mine during the manufacture of the longwall system
  • Coordinate maintenance on all longwall plant and equipment
  • Oversee longwall equipment performance to ensure it meets productivity requirements
  • Proven maintenance management experience in underground mining
  • The highest level of safety awareness and experience in risk management processes.
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills.
  • Must be suited to and willing to fulfil the significant statutory obligations for an underground coal mine.
  • Strong engineering and technical proficiency with the ability to identify and verify technical problems and requirements across underground mine infrastructure.
Qualifications required: 
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  •  5-7 years experience, as Longwall Mechanical Engineering (Mandatory)
  • Proven leadership and organisational skills
  • NSW Mine Mechanical Engineer Certificate of Competence or equivalent (Mandatory)
  • Previous experience repairing and maintaining longwall mining equipment is (Mandatory)
  • Proven detail focused person with high level and a much disciplined approach to planning and documentation.
  • Must be committed to studying for and obtaining a NSW Coal Mine Mechanical Engineer Certificate of Competence.
  • Strong communication and organisational skillsMust be suited to and willing to fulfil the significant statutory obligations for an underground coal mine.
  • Technical roles in management, maintenance, engineering, and project management.
  • Experience in feasibility studies and in particular materials handling options assessments for underground mines.
