Services Planner (Mechanical) - Planner Level 3

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced Mechanical Planner to join one of Australia’s leading, diversified mining companies. Based at Olympic Dam, the key purpose of this position is the weekly and long term planning of section activities to ensure the safe achievement of department KPI targets. Activities should be coordinated across shifts and other departments in order to create maximum value to Olympic Dam.

The Mechanical Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all preventative and predictive maintenance carried out on mechanical equipment.

Manage the maintenance plan for the Infrastructure maintenance department. This includes:
  • Planning & scheduling of tasks on a weekly and long term basis to carry out the preventive maintenance plan.
  • Prepare and distribute the weekly maintenance schedule detailing the work for the following week.
  • Assist in preparation of the area maintenance budget & monitor actual costs against budget.
  • Maintain the equipment register, bill of materials and stock holding levels for equipment spares.
  • Maintain, monitor and communicate defined maintenance KPI’s.
  • Continuous improvement of the area maintenance plan by analysing equipment failures and improving equipment maintenance strategies to improve plant uptime.
  • Assist with compiling of the weekly and monthly area maintenance reports.
To secure this position you must have sound knowledge of Planning & Scheduling processes with mechanical equipment , previous exposure to the mining and minerals processing industry, have the ability to work under pressure, deliver outcomes within strict timeframes and demonstrate an overriding commitment to site OHS practices and policies. In addition you will hold relevant tertiary or trade qualification and be proficient using SAP and MS Office. This is an immediate start for a 3 month contract and offers an attractive hourly rate.
