The Role
Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for providing support and advice to the site staff covering safety, medical and emergency response


Some duties include:

• Advise on statutory requirements of all site related activities with regards to mine safety legislation
• Assist personnel to meet their statutory duty of care with regards to OHS matters
• Actively promote a safety culture among all department personnel and contractors
• Assist in auditing and monitoring processes in the workplace
• Emergency Response planning
• Be on call for immediate care
• Ongoing development, coordination and assistance with the  Emergency Response Team
• Completing Investigations
• Give Influence to get the best outcomes
• Lead by example and promote a safe working environment 
• Assisting with routine inspections
• Working within and promoting a safe working environment

You will need:

• Certificate IV or above in OHS
• Cert IV Health Care Ambulance or Diploma of Paramedical Science
• Cert III Mines Emergency Response and Rescue
• Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry
• Industrial medic background
• Proficient user of MS office
• Prior experience in similar role within the mining industry or alike
• Attention to detail – time management, record keeping etc
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
