Inside Sales Representative

Position Summary

• [Company] , a leader in materials management and one of the nation's largest full-line industrial distributors, is searching for an Inside Sales Representative to assist customers in locating, ordering and providing the products they need. This position is located in Elko, NV.

Target Responsibilities

• Prepare customer quotes by phone, fax or mail in a timely manner.
• Secure and purchase merchandise that the customer has inquired about, items that are not stocked and purchase on an as needed basis.
• Handle walk-in customers either by entering the order and having the warehouse pull it or by pulling the material and preparing a hand written order and collecting payment or obtaining signature of the responsible party.
• Take phone calls from phoned in orders and prepare orders to be entered into the computer system by data input clerks and on occasion enter data.
• Fill out the proper forms to manage inventory efficiently so that purchasing can have the right amount of inventory on hand to handle the customer demand.
• Oversee and double check faxed in purchase orders so that we have the material on hand and that the pricing is correct.
• Correct EDI errors so that orders may print and material can ship to customers.
• Analyze service level reports on key customers finding out why the materials are not on hand when the customer requested them and make changes as needed.
• Fill out and maintain system accounts for customers so that when customers part numbers are entered into the computer system part numbers and pricing are correct.

Minimum Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess 2-5 years of related experience in the Industrial Sales and Distribution/Management.
• Experience with the local mines and other industry is helpful. He or she must have strong personal computer skills, specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. They must also possess strong and effective verbal and written communication skills in order to effectively interface with other departments, customer service centers, customers and vendors on a regular basis.
