Reporting to the Exploration Manager your duties will include but not be limited to;
Following and complying with all Safety, Environmental and Company systems/policies/procedures at all times.
Ensuring the implementation of exploration plans including environmental, cultural heritage and landholder activities are on schedule and on budget.
Be actively involved in the training and mentoring of team members.
Coordinating and managing contractors and ensuring compliance/ adherence to conditions set out in contracts.
Reporting all safety incidents through the correct procedures promptly and accurately and to a high standard.
Ensuring direct reports meeting safety reporting obligations.
Developing and maintaining effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders.
Managing data collection and entry of all appropriate exploration data and maintenance and validation of exploration databases.
Managing and providing guidance in interpretation of geological mapping and drilling data including 3-dimensional wireframing.
Reviewing drilling campaigns for completeness and ensuring the expected project deliverables are achieved to the highest standard.
Management of all statutory and internal company or Joint Venture reports and ensuring all reporting is to the highest standard and on time.
The Successful Applicant
Minimum 7 years experience as a project geologist in an exploration environment
Leadership experience in small to medium sized teams The ability to lead and drive safety and team leadership and demonstrable experience with safety culture, systems and processes.
Strong team leadership and demonstrable experience in carrying out defined exploration programs to a high technical standard and in accordance to budget.
Advanced organisational and mentoring skills
Advanced computing skills including all MS Office applications, MapInfo, Micromine and field PDA’s.
Advanced field skills such as mapping/sampling and drill rig supervision and drill sample logging.
Advanced drill campaign planning and execution skills.
Advanced Knowledge of tenement conditions and reporting standards.
Advanced understanding of drill campaign deliverables
