Global Implementation Data Conversion Specialist

  • Golder Associates Corporation is currently seeking a BST Global Implementation Data Conversion Specialist. This individual may be located in either our Atlanta, GA, Mississauga, ON, or Melbourne, AU offices. This individual will be a part of the Global project team responsible for deploying BST to the Asia, Australasia and European regions of Golder Associates over the next 24 months.
  • In this role the Data Conversion Specialist will be expected to scope conversion requirements, execute data transformation activities, and support end-user validation activities. This individual will:
  • Work with regional and/or country representatives to scope requirements, clarify requirements, and execute data migrations. He or she will be expected to document requirements, processes and any changes in a structured manner;
  • Work with the global team members to achieve agreed upon timelines for reporting deliverables;
  • Understand and comply with standards set by the FAS team - the Financial Application Support team to ensure smooth transition from development to Operations.
  • The data conversion specialist will work to develop and generate scripts to meet the export/import requirements as defined by systems analysts. The role requires the candidate to completely understand complex large scale data models for an enterprise financial and project costing system and the underlying business processes.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work with financial application system analysts to create ETL scripts that export data that is mapped to existing system formats for import;
  • Understand source and target data structures and ETL processes;
  • Responsible for verifying accuracy of data;
  • Acceptance Test Planning & Execution with end users;
  • Work in an agile environment while managing multiple concurrent projects;
  • Maintain detailed documentation on all processes.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Computer Science/Information Systems; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with MS SQL Server, MSSQL Analysis Services, and SQL Server Integration Services;
  • Must be familiar with database concepts, practices, and procedures including a basic understanding of database structure, table joins, SQL, and more;
  • Knowledge of data models and relationships between data elements;
  • Proven ability to work throughout the full software development life-cycle;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills;
  • Exposure to ERP systems (BST Enterprise a plus).
  • Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment working with highly distributed peer and project teams;
  • Previous accounting system and financial reporting support a plus;
  • Business Experience in a Consulting environment a plus;
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed;
  • Keen attention to detail;
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities;
  • Must have a valid passport and the ability to travel.
