We are currently looking for an
Experienced Workshop Supervisor to join our Diesel Workshop team, based in Mackay. Working closely with the Workshop Management Team and reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision of Workshop Personnel and Leading Hands and also involved in all estimating, tender preparation, quoting and pricing for the Diesel Workshop.
Specific Responsibilities *Liaise with Workshop / field planner to ensure planned repairs are carried out in a cost effective/ specified time basis and safe working environment *Support leading hands, section co-ordinators and tradesmen and parts department with technical and product information when required *Maintain office and paper work in an orderly manner to ensure smooth flow of paper trail *Compile and update job file reporting system to completion of repairs *Check that inspections/defect lists are complete and have all necessary information for quoting purposes *Ensure service reports and amendments for all jobs are updated regularly during course of repairs *Delegate responsibilities according to jobs *Liaise with work shop planner, workshop manager and accounts manager to assist in quotations *Oversee ordering of replacement parts, workshop tooling and workshop consumables *Monitor and evaluate apprentices and tradesmen to determine areas of training required *Human resource management of workshop personnel in conjunction with Workshop Manager and Company directors
We are ideally seeking someone who has: *A tertiary qualification in an associated discipline *5 or more years of relevant industry experience *A sound understanding on underground machinery *Previous estimating and workshop supervisory experience *Good negotiation skills and attention to detail *Well developed interpersonal skills *Strong analytical, numerical and problem solving skills; *Strong computer skills, including expertise with a variety of office-related software including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook Express, etc *Excellent communication and organizational skills *Successful experience in working in teams
You will have proven experience developed over several years with strong knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices which apply to the underground mining industry.
