Technical Services Manager

Our client, a large International Mining firm is looking to add the following key person to their remote Mine Site in Northern Canada:
Technical Services Manager
The Technical Services team is currently comprised of 45 people which includes MRM, Geology and Engineering including Short and Medium Term Planning, Surveying, Ventilation and Geotechnical.Responsibilities:
Provide leadership to the Technical Services Department, while managing all mine engineering and geological services with efficient direction
Develop long and short term mine planning, design, geotechnical and geological services - Responsible for the design, construction, and completion of a major underground expansion project
Manage the day to day operations for the Technical Services Team.
Manage budget and operational costs associated with the department
Provide on-going technical services for the development of all underground infrastructure to meet operational needs
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree in Mining Engineering
  • 10 years of underground mining experience at the management level
  • Must be a member with the Professional Engineers Association
  • Knowledge of planning and budgets, proficient with computer software
  • Possess excellent communication, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Pre-employment medical examination
  • Must have Proven Leadership skills with the ability to Mentor a Team of young and inexperienced professionals.
