Category Manager

Brief Description

Responsibility

• Lead local category activities and guide other relevant stakeholders (e.g. Sales, Proposal, Engineering) to actively support the category activities and tasks
• Development and deployment of category procurement strategy in alignment with the Global Category Strategies
• Ensure category utilization and compliance with agreed tools, templates and processes of [Company] Category Management
• Coordination of strategic procurement activities for the category
• Within the category be proactive in maintaining and communicating the overview of:
• Global and local supplier options (global supplier options in co-operation with the Global Category Management)
• Qualified suppliers (local, global as well as preferred suppliers)
• Supplier capability and capacity
• Maintain ready available catalogue of most common components/materials including cost prices
• List ongoing and upcoming projects including identification of potential volume concentration
• Report cost reduction activities and achievements on monthly level to Global Category Management

• Proficient English skills, verbal and writing

Job Requirements

• Strategic Purchaser / Purchasing Manager / Strategic Procurement Manager

and/or

• Professional B.Sc/M.Sc/B.Com Engineer with Supply Chain Management as background

The person has:

• Insight into product development and production engineering- Insight into business finance and project and product budgets and component cost models
