Project Engineer

Project Engineer Job Description:

• Our client, a stable and growing manufacturer of specialty products, has a need for a Project Engineer to join their operations in the surrounding area of Jacksonville, Florida. This role will be responsible for organizing and executing all the activities that will deliver the project as defined in the scope and budget request. This includes design, construction/installation, commissioning, startup, and documentation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides the detailed technical documents for material and equipment procurement, fabrication and construction/installation.
• Plan and schedule the project work, order the materials from company-approved suppliers, track timing and cost, manage the construction/installation group, and communicate project goals.
• Exercise complete compliance for all environmental, safety, and business practices.
• Develop projects by working individually or with a team to finalize scopes, estimates, and justification support for projects.
• Insure that projects have been vetted with the Design for Reliability philosophy.
• Handle capital improvement projects ranging from $100,000 to $10 million.
• Manage subcontractors, bid reviews, vendor selection, and coordinating in the field work and installation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• At least 5 years of project management from concept to completion
• Relevant heavy industry experience, specifically in steel mills, chemical plants, refineries, or converting operations
• Strong project management and analytical skill capabilities
• Projects have to include pumping systems, piping, and construction
• Have a safety oriented background, well versed in safety concepts

Preferred Experience

• At least 10 years of project management experience from concept to completion
• Microsoft Project, AutoCAD experience
• Experience with a CMMS such as Passport
