Principal Rail Design Engineer

Unique opportunity for a Principle/Lead Rail Engineer to join a leading consultancy in their head office in Perth to work across a number of challenging and exciting mining projects within their portfolio. The role of Principle/Lead Rail Engineer is responsible for all aspects of design and engineering services for heavy haul Iron ore railways and reports directly into the Engineering Manager. The role will be covering formation and permanent way design as well as generation of design and specification documentation for track works, communications, signalling, rolling stock and  train loadout operations.


Duties:

• To be able to assist with any design alterations or design faults and the design teams progress 
• Guidance and mentoring to site and project engineering staff 
• Checking of shop detail drawings 
• Develop and maintain standard specifications and drawings

In order to succeed in this role you will need the following qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline  
• You MUST have a proven track record in Heavy Industrial Rail Projects preferably within a mining infrastructure setting 
• At Least 15 years Heavy Haul rail design experience 
• An Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency 
• Ability to undertake design and engineering of concepts
