Health Safety & Environment Advisor

Our client is one of Australia’s leading providers of contract catering, accommodation and facility management services. 

They currently have a requirement for a proactive / hands on HSE Advisor to service their sites base in the Surat Basin.

The role will be to manage and provide support in the areas of Health, Safety and Environment for your designated region of responsibility. Your duties will include but not limited to:
  • Establish a strong link with the Client’s Health Safety & Environment Management teams to ensure full compliance with OHS&E policies, systems and procedures.
  • Provide accurate and strategic KPI reporting and analysis 
  • Participate in the review process & provide technical support and advice for all OHS&E strategies as requested 
  • Ensure all risk control strategies from the ‘Safe Work Procedures’ and, ‘Task Based Risk Assessments’ are reviewed and implemented on all sites.
  • Provide technical support and advice on legislative and Company requirements
  • Undertake continuous improvement activities, auditing and coaching at sites
  • Ensure all accreditation activities are achieved within budget and time frame
  • Maintain database records and generate accurate reporting data 
  • Maintain established computerised OHS&E record management system, including registers and databases.
  • Follow standard procedures using existing models / fields of information
  • Work with Sites to ensure compliance to OHS&E compliance requirements
  • Improvement the quality and consistency of OHS&E activities
  • Identify any negative trends and anomalies and provide solutions based on analysis of these findings
About you
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety 
  • Minimum of 2 years HSE experience in a similar position 
  • Sound understanding of relevant mining & OHS&E legislation and application principals 
  • Have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate across all levels of a project, with the determination to exert a positive influence and to lead by example,
  • Certificate IV in Training and assessment will be highly regard, 
  • Experience in auditing and investigation techniques will be highly regarded
  • HACCP working knowledge would be an advantage
  • Experience with Microsoft products: Excel – Word - Outlook
