Environmental Engineer (Coal Mining)


My client seeks a professional, innovative and dynamic individual that has a track record of building solid relationships and successfully managing projects within the Mining Industry.

Requirements of the position include:
  • Provide in-house project management for all Company Projects and manage outsourced assignments relating to Preliminary Assessments, Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Environmental Liability Issues and Remedial Actions. 
  • Identify and stay abreast with technical and regulatory developments in the mining industry.  
  • Stakeholder and regulatory interaction. 
  • Assess and evaluate outsourced Service Providers scope of work and budget for Company’s individual projects. 
  • Management of communication Structures between Environmental Consultants and Engineers
  • Management and oversight for all projects, working together with the technical team, consultants and contractor personnel. 
  • Responsible for project quality, budget, schedule and deliverables.
  • Management of internal and external due dates.
  • Responsible for project invoice verification and payments
  • Mentor and Manage Junior staff
  • Proposals and cost estimates. 
  • Strategic leadership, including the setting of strategic objectives and targets
  • Understand, maintain and implement conformance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of Primary’s environmental management strategy
  • Secure and/or obtain environmental authorisations, permits and licenses 
  • Monitor and measure environmental management performance
  • Provide direction to the organisation on environmental issues
  • Identify audit requirements and manage incident investigations
  • Manage departmental resources
