Counsel-Marketing

Position Summary

• This position provides legal support to the Marketing Department on individual transactions, contract interpretation issues, compliance matters and other legal matters.  
• Responsible for providing legal counsel support to maximize benefits, minimize liabilities and to allow the Marketing Department to complete business transactions in a manner that achieves its goals.

Target Responsibilities

• Provides legal counsel as requested by Marketing Department, including Coal Marketing, Gas Marketing, Transportation and

Contract Administration.

• Drafts, reviews, and negotiates commercial contracts, amendments and other documents.
• Interprets provisions in existing documents.
• Assists with contract compliance matters.

Minimum Requirements

• Law Degree and Bar Membership certification is required.
• Requires at least 5 years of commercial experience in law.  Coal, oil and gas or transportation contract experience preferred.
• Requires knowledge and understanding of business transactions, commercial contracts and general corporate law.
• Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to build teamwork, influence, persuade, negotiate, resolve conflicts and provide guidance to the Marketing Department, others within the company and with third parties.
