Manager, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Reporting

Position Summary

  • Responsible for managing, planning, designing and implementing initiatives, ongoing enhancements to the data warehouse, and ensuring priorities of various customer groups are being delivered.
  • Serve as functional and technical expert in data warehouse architecture; work with various project teams and serve as SME in the design and development of new solutions and interfaces between source systems; construct project plans and oversees their implementation.
  • Manage DW/BI developers, interface with internal customer groups on all issues, and ensure that projects are delivered according to business expectations.
  • Design interfaces between source systems, gather detailed requirements and propose appropriate solutions, construct project plans and oversee their implementation.
  • Promote data sharing, consistency and reuse.
  • Manage reviews of data quality deliverables of all phases and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with business to successfully implement and maintain an enterprise level business analytics and data warehousing solution.
  • Identify and promote best practices for data modeling within information areas across the organization, providing oversight for activities related to data cleansing, data quality and data consolidation using industry standard data modeling methods and processes.
  • Communicate the overall data architecture to both technical and business constituencies.
  • Lead design of exception handling and data cleansing / standardization procedures and business transformation rules and logic.
  • Ensure data quality so that it is reliable and re-usable.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8 to 10 years’ experience in data warehousing, with at least 4 years of experience in DW program management or DW management preferred
  • Strong technical and functional experience in data warehousing, architecture, and governance and Business Intelligence space and analytics
  • Experience designing system interfaces between complex systems
  • Personnel and budget management skills are essential
  • Strong relational database experience: Oracle (10g / 11g) for enterprise applications and MS SQL Server for service-specific applications
  • Formal experience and/or application-specific training in Oracle and PL/SQL, Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services, enterprise reporting, decision support systems, or data warehousing
  • Prior experience with business intelligence tools such as Arcplan, Cognos, TM1, Hyperion Essbase, Microsoft Analysis Services, Business Objects and/or Microstrategy
  • Prior experience with data integration, cleansing, transformation, and warehousing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding analytical/problem solving skills and attention to detail
  • Occasional travel will be required
