Controls Technician

Job Description:

  • Install and maintain DCS Systems including servers, computers, network communications, etc.
  • Performing installation, calibration, maintenance and repair on devices that measure and control level, temperature, pressure, flow, force, power, position, motion, physical properties, chemical composition and other variables.
  • Selecting, installing and operating analytical instruments, computers, recorder and other peripheral equipment used in measurement and control systems.
  • Facilitating monitoring and alarming of all Facilities supported systems site wide.
  • Providing programming, configuration, and operation of PC based PLC, DDC & DCS control systems.
  • Working on new or remodel projects with construction trades modifying, upgrading or replacing existing control and monitoring systems.
  • Performing preventive and corrective maintenance on test equipment.
  • Developing and maintaining records on testing and calibrations as they pertain to production processes, environmental compliance, and related systems or equipment.
  • Assisting with the collection of engineering data.
  • Responding to work orders that involve troubleshooting, repair or calibration of any field devices.
  • Accurately completing documentation (e.g., Work Orders, Control Room Reports, Purchasing requests, etc.).
  • Providing resource technical data for equipment replacement and purchasing.
  • Prioritize, schedule and perform preventative maintenance, revision installation and corrective maintenance for Agreement Customers.
  • Perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Develop test configurations and test hardware to assist in testing hot spares.
  • On call after hours support as assigned.
  • Assist in Engineering Team in preparing system migration quotations.
  • Obtain and maintain Product Certification for assigned product lines.
  • Support inventory and return needs as required.
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to benefit programs.
  • On call after hours support as assigned.
