Environmental Compliance Manager

Job Description:

• A growing, mid-sized environmental waste management company in Northern Indiana has an immediate opening for an experienced Environmental Scientist/Field Chemist.
• This individual will be working on-site at an industrial client in South Bend, Indiana and will work with plant personnel on the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials/waste. This is a direct permanent hire with our client.

Major job duties include:

• Manage and oversee the storage, transportation, and disposal of both hazardous and non-hazardous waste
• Ensure RCRA, DOT, OSHA regulations are followed and that the client is compliant with the regulations
• Complete site inspections and audits
• Participate in safety meetings and work with safety managers regarding waste disposal
• Perform other related duties as required

Job requirements

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or other related field
• Current up-to-date 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certification or Refresher Certification
• 2+ years’ experience dealing with RCRA, DOT, and OSHA issues that is related to haz and non-haz waste management
• Understanding of proper waste handling procedures in an industrial setting
• This position is a direct hire with our client and the standard work week is M-F 7A-4P.
