Superintendent, Mine Processing

The role is responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to Supervisors and Operators to ensure the Ore Processing in the most efficient manner to meet all KPI’s. The role also provides expertise and technical support in metallurgy in order to ensure that plant employees are able to meet targets for throughput, metallurgical recovery and product quality in a safe and cost efficient manner. Finally, the role coordinates business improvement effort within the Ore Processing and manages capital planning.

Description

The Superintendent, Mine Processing responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Supervise metallurgical group to ensure processes are optimized and plant efficiency is monitored
• Supervise all issues related to mine product quality and work with Operations on ongoing challenges.
• Assist in the management of special projects to improve or increase plant safety, effectiveness and efficiency (Six Sigma, Capital).
• Organize capital planning for projects, and prioritize projects allocation.
• Organize Six Sigma projects allocation, support on going projects and drive continuous improvement principles.
• Ensure mining mineral production processes are optimized and plant efficiency is monitored.
• Prepare & implement monthly operational plans and objective in accordance with production requirements
• Analyze production data and reports and set efficiencies and standards to achieve productivity improvements
• Investigate causes of delays and deviations
• Recommend and implement modifications and improvements to processes
• Assist in the preparation of capital budgets and working costs
• Plan recommend future equipment and labour requirements
• Provide training and mentoring to the metallurgical group
• Provide ongoing support large metallurgical projects

Qualifications:

• Degree in metallurgy or engineering
• Minimum 7 years of ore/mineral processing experience
• Experience within a high producing large operating mine
• Knowledge of maintenance systems relating to process facilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
