My client is a one of Australia's leading mining consultany's who not only operate in Australia but also on a global scale. Due to their phenomenal growth they are looking to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer for their offices in Sydney and Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer looking for career advancement and progression along with the chance to work closely with some of Australia's leading mining companies.
 
Responsibilites of the Geotechnical Engineer include:

• Overseeing the geotechnical analysis and design.
• Writing detailed reports.
• Involvement in tender proposals and reviews.
• Be involved in the geotechnics in either the open cut or underground mines.
• Strong experience in maintaining and validation of accurate geotechnical data as well as reviewing the short, medium and long term plans.
• Ability to work unsupervised or part of the team.

 
Requirements of the Geotechnical Engineer include:

• Tertiary degree qualification in geology or related discipline.
• Proficient in mining geotechnical software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A minimum of 3 years experience in coal mining on either open pit or underground mines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly analytical with good problem solving skills.
