Overall Purpose of Job:

• Under Direct Supervision, using independent judgment within established practices and guidelines, by Management of Plant Engineering or its subsidiaries (indicated as “the Company”), the purpose of this position is to provide the essential administrative and technical knowledge and direction for the job functions listed below with the objective of ensuring Plant Engineering's competitiveness within the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value.

Primary Job Duties/Functions:

• Under general supervision, perform basic design

Demonstrating a basic knowledge of the following Civil/Structural Engineering subjects:

• Structural Foundations – Shallow & Deep
• Steel & Reinforced Concrete Structures
• Site Drainage
• Paving
• Plant Roadways & Rail
• Industrial Buildings
• Performing and checking under supervision civil/structural engineering calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual design techniques
• Exhibiting basic understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices
• Work with vendor data and with personnel in other disciplines as required for the performance of design
• Actively participating in, promoting and maximizing the use of Plant Engineering Knowledge Community and other available resources
• Understanding the administration of other disciplines
• Developing client relations
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Job Requirements

• BS in Civil Engineering
• Prefer Engineer-in-Training
• 6 to 9 month experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Engineer-In-Training status achievement preferred
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the intermediate use of spreadsheets
• The use of Discipline Specific software may be required
