Overview:
Our client provides client-focused solutions in planning, implementing, and maintaining plants and facilities within the heavy industrial market. This exceptional client is looking for a Senior Contract Specialist to join their growing team. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, executing and delivering high quality documents for several projects, while exercising independent judgment and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Reside as an active participant in performance management, recruitment, rewarding and disciplinary actions, and other personnel-related functions for the group;
- Develop and execute strategies for individual packages (contract); pre-qualifying proponents, preparing and obtaining approval for Bid Lists;
- Estimate manhour estimates for new project, manage manhours per project and approve timesheets;
- Establish templates, file systems and controls for all project specific contract documents;
- Establish and maintain project specific contract status reports and logs;
- Execute various sourcing tasks, requests for proposals, evaluations, award recommendations, issuance of contracts, change order management, Contract close out;
- Liaison and focal point between Project Management, Client(s), Engineering, Contractors;
- Prepare, organize and host assigned Procurement sponsored meetings
Qualifications:
- A business related degree from a recognized institution and/or recognized Supply Chain Management designation would be an asset;
- Strong knowledge and ability to plan, prioritize, organize, monitor and conduct activities requiring independent decisions/judgment;
- A minimum of 7 years in a similar role with 3-5 being in a leadership capacity;
- Experience handling large, complex contracts for major EP/EPCM projects;
- Demonstrated experience in executing contractual terms and conditions in conjunction with established purchasing policies;
- Clear understanding on Contract Law, liabilities and risk and implications of such;
- Commitment to working in a team environment;
- Ability to work within deadlines in a fast paced and high-pressure environment; and,
- Strong client focus and a desire to achieve "higher than expected" results is essential.
