New operation, open pit gold mine based in the Pilbara running a 12/9 roster seek Chief Surveyor to head up survey department.
Reporting to the Mining Manager you will play a key role in the building and developing the surveying department for this new gold operation and play a key part in all mine surveying activities.
This role will suit a proactive person with strong interpersonal and communication skills. To be successful here you will need to be a highly organised individual who both thrives in an autonomous position but also enjoys working within a positive team environment.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Management of the survey budget
Initial set up and establishment of the Survey Department
Management/Maintenance of the spatial information & data sets
Provide technical assistance and surveying services to the Construction Manager during the construction phase as required
Provide mining related and general surveying services during the operational phase
Management of all aspects of the Survey Department, including training, succession planning and general staff development
Implement business improvement initiatives
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 years survey experience in an open pit mining environment, preferably with some of this experience in a Chief Surveyor or or Senior Surveyor capacity.A Degree or Diploma in Surveying, including authorization as a Mine Surveyor within WA under the Mine Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations is essential.
